BRAND IDENTITY

Film Moods is a Spokane based wedding photographer who eloquently blends vintage photographic process with modern editorial storytelling. Her philosophy and style is informed by romance, nostalgia, and cinematic tension. When developing this brand identity for Film Moods, the objective was to translate the emotional intimacy of wedding and couples photography, alongside the sacred and cinematic. The creative framework of the brand nods to ceremonial symbolism and echoes themes of chapel romance, and heirloom sentiment. All the while, embracing moments of distortion, contrast, and irreverence that mirror her more experimental work.

Influences of vintage romance and old-world gothic aesthetics were anchored by gothic typographic forms and a restrained palette of oxblood, linen, pewter, and cream. Approached through a brand architecture lens, the visual system was designed to scale across digital, print, and physical touch points. A dual logotype structure provides hierarchical versatility, while modular typography, texture, and color logic ensure the identity can flex between refined editorial compositions and more expressive, unconventional applications without losing cohesion. The resulting identity positions Film Moods as a curator of moments and memory, redefining wedding photography as a ritualistic craft that respects tradition while quietly disrupting it.

Introduced through an invite-only launch event, the brand quickly cultivated a devoted following and established Film Moods as both a creative practice and a cultural signal. The launch featured a tattoo artist with a custom flash sheet from the brand system; cherub iconography, stars, and an outline version of the logo offered for free. The work ultimately moved from design to permanence, with attendees choosing to have the Film Moods logo tattooed, a telling indicator of the emotional resonance and cultural pull of the identity.
